State Police say that a man stole an ambulance with a patient on board, leading police on a chase that ended in a crash in Schenectady.

Troopers say that the incident began around 11:30 a.m. in the town of Greenfield, Saratoga County, when a man stole an ambulance from the Greenfield Volunteer Fire Department.

The ambulance was transporting a patient to Saratoga Hospital when the suspect took off, according to troopers.
