Defends Title in Five-Set Thriller

Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz Garfia has won his first Wimbledon title, holding off American Frances Tiafoe in a thrilling five-set match. Alcaraz, who is just 19 years old, is now the youngest men's singles champion at Wimbledon since Rafael Nadal in 2008.

The match was a back-and-forth affair, with both players trading breaks of serve throughout the first two sets. Alcaraz took the first set 6-4, but Tiafoe won the second set 6-3. Alcaraz then won the third set 6-1, but Tiafoe fought back to win the fourth set 6-4.

In the fifth set, Alcaraz broke Tiafoe's serve in the third game and held on for a 6-3 victory. The match lasted for four hours and 11 minutes, making it the longest Wimbledon men's singles final since 2019.

With the win, Alcaraz becomes the first Spanish man to win Wimbledon since Nadal in 2010. He is also the youngest player to win a major since Nadal won the French Open in 2005.
